The Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing is recognised by the Australian Skills Quality Authority as nationally recognised training and is approved by the British Psychological Society Learning Centre for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). It is also supported by the Canadian and New Zealand Positive Psychology Associations.

Units of Competency

To be awarded the Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing participants must successfully complete eight units of competency made up of six core units and two electives. A robust self-paced assessment process will determine your competency.

Core Units: face-to-face training

  • Intro to Positive Psychology (PPWPPP501A): Apply principles of positive psychology and wellbeing theory to measure and build human flourishing
  • Positive Emotions (PPWDPE502A): Develop positive emotions for transformational change
  • Positive Engagement (PPWDET503A): Develop engagement techniques for personal and professional growth
  • Positive Meaning (PPWEMP504A): Enhance meaning and purpose in a personal and professional setting
  • Positive Relationships (PPWBPR505A): Build positive relationships to create human flourishing
  • Positive Goals (PPWFAA506A): Facilitate achievement and accomplishment for higher levels of wellbeing

Elective Units: face-to-face training

  • Positive Coaching (PPWAPC507A): Apply positive coaching to facilitate individual wellbeing
  • Positive Leadership (PPWAPL508A): Apply positive leadership strategies for extraordinary performance
  • Positive Parenting (PPWAPP509A): Apply positive parenting to raise flourishing children
  • Positive Community (PPWCPC510A): Create positive communities to increase individual and community wellbeing
  • Positive Education (PPWAPE511A): Apply positive education practices to develop a flourishing educational institution
  • Positive HR (PPWAPH512A): Apply positive human resource management to drive organisational scholarship
Structure

The Format of the Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing has been designed for the business professional. The course consists of six core modules, a choice of two elective modules and a range of assessment activities. The six core modules run over six full days of face-to-face training. In some locations, the core modules are delivered as a six-day intensive workshop and in other locations are delivered as two blocks of three days across two weeks. The two elective modules are completed online at your own pace.

Duration

You have 12 months to complete the course or 24 months if completing the course part-time. Generally, you would need to spend two hours a week on your work to complete the course in 12 months, or four hours a week to complete the course in 6 months. The course can be completed in less than six months. We have support people to guide and support you through your online electives and assessments.

Assessment

All assessments are based on competency-based training and assessment principles and will result in a ‘Competent’ or “Not yet competent” outcome. Your competency will be determined by observation of simulated and practical activities, structured questioning, class discussion, and written work.

You will have resources available to help you complete written assessments. Please be aware that we are more than happy to be flexible with assessments and will structure assessments around any physical or mental impairments.

Course fees

The course fee for the Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing (10030NAT) is AU$7,400 and is GST exempt.

The payment schedule for the Diploma:
Deposit $1,500 (on registration)
Instalment 1 $2,000 (before starting the face-to-face training)
Instalment 2 $2,000 (within one month after completing the face-to-face training)
Instalment 3 $1,900 (within two months after completing the face-to-face training)

Your course fees include all learning resources, an Expert Strengths Profile assessment and one hour debrief, wellbeing inventories, and morning and afternoon tea.

Payment plans are available and we are happy to discuss these flexible payment options with you.

Enrolments are accepted all year round. The course is extremely popular, so we recommend you complete your enrolment as early as possible. To guarantee your place, enrol at least eight weeks before course commencement. We are unable to confirm a Diploma will go ahead until we have reached minimum numbers, while we fully expect our courses to run we advise anyone flying interstate or internationally to wait until they have received confirmation before booking flights or accommodation. If minimum numbers have not been reached we will contact you to discuss the various options available to you.
