Your application of practices and knowledge from the BSEM course will enable you to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) for the elective unit Apply positive education practices to develop a flourishing educational institution (PPWAPE511A). Successful RPL reduces your study load and the cost of completing the course.

The Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing is the first course of its kind, offering comprehensive, practical, and accredited training in applied positive psychology.

This partnership means that BSEM alumni can complete this Government Accredited qualification over a shorter period of time and at a discounted price!

The Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing is recognised by the Australian Skills Quality Authority as nationally recognised training. It is also supported by the Canadian and New Zealand Positive Psychology Associations.

A Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing from the Langley Group Institute will be awarded on successful completion.

The post-nominal qualification is Dip Pos Psych.

Units of Competency

To be awarded the Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing participants must successfully complete eight units of competency made up of six core units and two electives. As a BSEM alumni you will only need to complete one elective – as you will receive a credit for the other one. A robust self-paced assessment process will determine your competency.

Core Units: face-to-face training

  • PPWRAT001 –  Research and apply theories of positive psychology to establish and develop own level of wellbeing
  • PPWDAI002 – Develop and apply interventions to leverage positive emotions
  • PPWDEI003 – Develop engagement interventions for personal and professional growth
  • PPWDII004 – Develop and implement interventions to increase meaning and fulfilment in different settings
  • PPWDII005 – Develop and implement interventions to build positive relationships
  • PPWEMA006 –  Establish and monitor achievement of positive goals for personal and professional growth

Elective Units:

  • PPWAPC007 – Apply positive coaching to increase individual wellbeing
  • PPWIOP008 – Increase organisational performance through application of positive leadership strategies
  • PPWDIP009 – Develop and implement positive parenting interventions
  • PPWDSI010 – Develop strategies for implementation to create positive communities
  • PPWDSI011 – Develop strategies for implementation to create positive education institutions
  • PPWADSI012 – Develop strategies for implementation to increase positive human resource practices
Structure

The course consists of six core modules, and as BSEM alumni, a further choice of one elective module
and a range of assessment activities. The six core modules run over six full days of face-to-face training delivered as two blocks of three days across two weeks. The further elective is completed online at your own pace.

Duration

You have a total of 12 months to complete the course. Should you wish to complete the course in a shorter time frame that is of course very much achievable. We have mentors to guide and support you through your assessment and elective units.

Assessment

All assessments are based on competency-based training and assessment principles and will result in a ‘Competent’ or ‘Not yet competent’ outcome.

Please be aware that we are more than happy to be flexible with assessments.

Course fees

The regular course fee for the 10653NAT Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing is AUD$7,500 and is GST exempt. If you enrol into the BSEM in-house Diploma you will receive a saving of $1000! Your investment will be $AUD6,500.
The payment schedule for the Diploma:

Deposit AUD$1,500 (on registration)
Instalment 1 AUD$2,000 (before starting the face-to-face training)
Instalment 2 AUD$2,000 (within one month after completing the face-to-face training)
Instalment 3 AUD$1,000 (within two months after completing the face-to-face training)
Where an employer or organisation is funding the training, full payment of AUD$6,500 can be made upfront.
Your course fees include all learning resources, an Expert Strengths Profile assessment and one hour debrief, wellbeing inventories, and morning and afternoon tea.
